Nisa Stamford Lincolnshire

In September 2020, Lincolnshire welcomed a brand-new convenience store in place of a derelict pub that has been standing empty and in disrepair for more than five years.

The old pub has been transformed into a modern Nisa Local store, creating 15 local jobs, and The Jordon Group had the pleasure of being the fit-out team for this exciting project.

The new Nisa store offers shoppers a fantastic range of fresh produce, a deli counter, hot and cold food-to-go, as well as a comprehensive grocery offer including a large selection of award-winning Co-op own label products.
Owner Siva Thievanayagam, who runs a number of other convenience stores in and around the Peterborough area, purchased the site in January and despite the added complications of Covid-19, the development ran to schedule and was delivered on time.
Siva commented…

“We’ve worked really hard on the plans for this store. I really want people to walk in and get a good first impression as soon as they enter with a real wow factor.”
He continued…
“I want the store to have a modern feel but one that is different and unique and that the store is a place where shoppers enjoy their experience.”
With the latest flooring, lighting, shelving and refrigeration, two self-scan checkouts, extensive off road parking and a strong focus on pricing and promotions along with the wide ranging food-to-go offer and extensive 45 metres of chilled bays, Siva hopes his latest store will be a hit with the local community which he plans to become an integral part of.

He said: “We are situated in the middle of a large residential area and have a college directly across the road and so we plan to become an important part of the community, employing local people, serving the local area, working with them and supporting them with local causes.

“I have lots of ideas about how we will get involved and I’m looking forward to opening our doors and welcoming our shoppers.”
We would like to thank Siva for choosing us as his shopfitting contractors and wish him the very best with his new convenience store.

EG Group Headquarters

EG Group Headquarters

The Jordon Group we are so very proud to have completed such an outstanding development, take-a-look inside the new EG Headquarters in Blackburn, project managed by Chris Durr and his team of highly skilled joiners and engineers…

The four-story building with views over Fishmoor Reservoir at Haslingden Road took three years to complete and takes up 130,000 square feet of space. The new offices have 36 state of the art meeting rooms and can accommodate up to 700 staff with room for more in the future, making it one of the largest commercial building projects of its kind in the region.

Staff took up residency in the building in mid-August but due current social distancing restrictions only half the number are working in the offices.

Tom Jeremiah, Group Planning and Permit Director at the EG Group said, “This feels like our home already and the staff are loving their new surroundings. Blackburn with Darwen has been good to us and this is a way of repaying our staff who deserve this for all their hard work. It is recognition of all the efforts.”

The building includes, a large reception area, conference facilities, training rooms, a prayer area, a staff restaurant which can accommodate more than a 100 staff at any one time, two large open-plan offices each holding up to 300 staff, a board room and further offices with balconies on the fourth floor. Work on the top floor is continuing as is landscape gardening at the rear of the building where a path can be used by staff for taking a gentle stroll or to take some exercise.

The offices are Covid-19 compliant, with a one-way system in place, hand sanitisers and automated temperature check on entrance and staff working at different hours of the day.

We would like to thank Euro Garages for choosing us as their contractors for this wonderful project, we hope you love it as much as we do.

Asda on the move

Asda on the move

The Jordon Group are delighted to announce that the first of the three trial sites for Eurogarages and Asda, named “Asda on the move”, started trading just days after the owners of Euro Garages, Mohsin and Zuber Issa, and partners at a private equity company agreed to buy Asda for £6.8bn.

The new outlet, which we had the pleasure of completely redeveloping, at the established Primley service station in Walsall, is the first of three Asda on the Move convenience stores planned for Euro Garages forecourt sites in the Midlands as part of a trial. Two more outlets are planned for sites at Ashby and Leamore.

Asda announced it was launching the new format in conjunction with the EG Group last month. Preyash Thakrar, Asda’s chief strategy officer, said: “Our partnerships strategy is focused on making our busy customers’ lives easier. That means offering convenience when they visit our stores by bringing in complementary brands to help them complete more shopping missions in one location, and convenience that makes our great value products more accessible in local communities.”

Here at Jordon’s we would like to thank EG Group for choosing us as their fit-out contractor and wish them the very best with the new venture.
