Best One, Longsite full Convenience Store Fit Out
12th May 2008
Jordon have recently finished work on one of the latest Convenience Stores to be part of the Best One buying group. Located in the suburb of Longsite, less that 1 mile from Manchester city centre the new store is perfectly situated amongst a captive audience of shoppers, not to mention the new high specification flats that the store is located beneath.
“After we were presented with a compulsory purchase order for our old premises we were left with no choice but to relocate to a temporary premises whilst work commenced on our new store” says Charlie, the owner. “Things have definitely worked out for the best” enthuses Charlie “having just moved into our new shop we’re really happy with the finished job, our customers all love the place as well”.
Jordon were responsible for transforming the empty shell of the new premises into a complete convenience store. This included everything from the floor to the ceiling. Gareth Lowry, Retail Design Consultant for Jordon comments “the first job was to get the floor laid, then we could begin work on building the partitions to separate the shop floor from the store room”. You can view a complete overview of the build by clicking on the thumbnails to the left of this article. Work was completed over a period of four weeks.
The finished shop included the following:
• 7 metres of open front chilled display cabinet for alcohol
• 7 metre of open front chilled display for dairy produce
• 6 metre run of freezers plus end cases
• More than 200 metres of ambient shelving
• 4 metres of magazine racking
• Bespoke counter system
• All electrics
• Lighting
• Complete air conditioning system
• Store rooms
• Office area
• Kitchen and toilet area
• Slat wall and fascia
• Mirrored finished to internal bollards
All of the above was performed to the Best One spec, see photos to the left for further details.
