Let The Supermarket Wars Begin!
4th December 2009
As reported in the Manchester Evening News (M.E.N), the first 'Asco' store begins trading on Saturday 5th December and plans to rival the big supermarket players, Asda and Tesco.
The Telegraph.co.uk also documented that Asco will offer "the real alternative" for shoppers looking for supermarkets beyond the big four.
Taking advantage of the failure of other retailers, Asco will open its first flag ship store in the former Woolworths bulding on Sankey Street in Warrington. The store is in excess of 9000 square feet and will create 65 jobs for local people, with future plans of a further 11 stores in 2010.
The Jordon Group were given the privilege to work on this project, using their expertise to turn a disused, outdated store into an ultra modern, spacious, shopping paradise.
Managing Director Dave Laney, who has a 30 year retail career, said "Jordon's have been spectacular throughout the whole process. We went with them initially because they were great on price and recommended on quality and they have surpassed our expectations. The job has run smoothly, within budget and most importantly on time."
Managing Director to The Jordon Group, Paul Jordon, also commented, "I'm really proud of the work we've done for Asco, the store looks great and I wish Dave every success in his business venture."
