Rivington / Bolton West Service Station is nominated for an RAC Cooling Industry Award 2011!

It’s fantastic news at Jordon HQ this week as our recent Euro Garages shopfitting project has been nominated for an award.

Euro Garages have just opened the doors to their new development at Bolton West / Rivington Services on the M61. After gaining the green light from Chorley Borough Council in 2010 to refurbish the existing northbound and southbound services, Euro Garages took the decision to completely rebuild both sites. The services were in very poor repair due to a fire on the southbound area in 2010, and only provided a portaloo and a petrol station.

The modern site now includes restaurants, a new forecourt, a well stocked convenience store, games area, toilet, changing facilities and prayer room. Serving weary drivers with a well deserved break at their convenience the site features a Burger King, Starbucks, Greggs, Spa and a BP Petroleum Forecourt.

The Jordon Group is extremely proud to be the exclusive developers of this huge project and have completed works on both the northbound and southbound sides.

As the two sites are identical it gave us and Franchill the perfect opportunity to install two different types of refrigeration equipment to compare energy consumption in a real life situation. This would allow us to measure the exact energy consumption of each system where others only simulate the operating conditions in a test environment which can never be as accurate. By the end of September, three months data will be available to analyse and results will be made available.

This rare collaboration between the pro-active End User, Installer and Supplier has caught the eye of the judges at the RAC Cooling Industry Awards 2011. As such, Euro Garages have been shortlisted in the "End User of the Year" category and will compete against supermarket giants such as Sainsbury's, Asda, Marks and Spencer and Harrods. The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday 28th September at the Hilton Hotel on Park Lane, London.
