There's a real buzz in the air in Hackney at the moment. As one of the Six Olympic Host Borough's, alongside Newham, Barking, Dagenham, Greenwich and Waltham Forest, the Olympic countdown has definitely begun.

Over the years Hackney has experienced some dramatic changes.  From what used to be a slum housing industrial workers in the early 1900's, to now playing a major part in the Hosting of the Olympic Games, the developments are phenomenal. 

To contribute to Hackney's regeneration is the current opening of a fully redeveloped Londis Convenience Store.

The C-Store, which was purchased 2 years ago by Gurjiit Gill and has been untouched for the past 25 years, has been lovingly restored by The Jordon Group to what it is today. The newly completed 150sqm store embraces the latest energy saving technologies and is fully equipped with everything a convenience store shopper would need, and more.

Owner Gurjiit Gill is thrilled with the outcome and is glad his new store is open in time for the Olympics. He comments...

"The entire developement took two weeks to complete. I wanted it to be done as soon as possible and ready for the Olympics so I am over the moon with the short amount of time it took to finish. The team have worked very hard to get the store to what it is today. The Post Office remained open throughought the build - I am very impressed and it has been a prevledge to work with such a dedicated team".

The store is in a great location close to Victoria Park and is very central to the Olympic proceedings. Hackney's current population of over 200,000 people is set to increase ten fold with the up and coming events, which will hopefully also reflect Mr Gill's footfall and sales.
