The once 1,250 sq ft store went under intense refurbishment to be what it is today. Significant building works were carried out during the 14-week closure as the site was knocked down and completely re-built. The new look store is more than double the size it was and now offers a much wider range of chilled produce, while its energy-saving credentials have been maximized with a range of high-impact improvements.
Owners Rocky and Alison wanted a state-of-the-art store; something different than your everyday petrol forecourt.
The Shell Forecourt at Birchanger Green Service Station, Hertfordshire was completely re-fitted to the highest quality standard. This busy motorway station includes services such as KFC, Starbucks, Waitrose, Krispy Kreme, Pappa John’s and the Ramada Hotel to name a few.
Work commenced 18th October 2015 and was completed on time and within budget. One of the main specifications of the re-fit was the importance of energy efficiency, saving costs and reducing emissions where possible.
Retail Design Consultant, Mike Perry of the Jordon Group made some informed recommendations on the best way to save energy for the client and a number of energy efficient products were chosen.
The sales area was increased to 108msq and feature 3 Costa Coffee Stations, a Deli 2 Go and additional Gondola Shelving bays maximizing on spend per transaction.
This service station has seen a two million pound investment and was officially re-opened by the chairman of Petrol Retailers’ Association Brian Madderson; also the local mayor, councilor, town crier and representatives from the Shell group.
The site features a Subway, a custom built Costa Coffee area with 2 machines and a grab and go section, a Fresh Bake bakery and also amenities such as a free cash machine and car valeting station to this NISA branded site.
Retail design consultant, Gareth Lowry advised the team of the most suitable and up to date product choices for the project. Stand out products included the Arneg Lisbona and the Arneg Brema, both the finest choices in terms of refrigeration. The refrigeration was complimented with the use of Arneg AMX 35 shelving.
Many other modern features were added to enhance the site such as ceiling rafts over key areas with focused down lighting, particular attention was paid to the color schemes to amalgamate the whole site and the Jordon Group worked closely with NISA to deliver their new “Store of the future” specification.
The team worked round the clock to ensure that the project was completed on time and within budget, resulting in an excellent example of a project tailor-made to enhance the customer experience.
Hushmuck, Kamlesh and Sailesh Thakrar (HKS), the team behind the new build Petrol Forecourt, was looking for a modern, energy efficient and eye-catching store that was set for the future.
Working closely alongside the team throughout the project, we ensured a fresh new concept was delivered and the initial vision of the store was met. Retail Design Consultant Roddy Brooks was able to lend his expertise and many years of experience, making the whole project from concept to reality very easy. All completed in a tight and efficient turnaround.
The store is equipped with a Daikin Conveni-Pack and a Daikin Zeas Condensing Unit. This is a highly efficient heat recovery refrigeration system which combines heating, cooling, and refrigeration in a single, compact and integrated system. It helps lower energy consumption and reduces CO2 emissions.
The new HKS site incorporates a number of additional features to benefit the ‘grab and go’ shopper and maximize on sales; including a Spar, a Subway and a Costa Coffee with a plush seating area.
This forecourt re-fit is the first in the exciting collaboration with Euro Garages and their expansion into Europe. The inaugural site is in Tilburg, Holland and we feel it has a lot to offer the local community.
Featuring a Subway and seating area, food to go, local produce, health foods, and toiletries, we wish our long-standing clients the very best in their new venture.
Located in Heemskerk, a town in the Netherlands, North Holland, this new forecourt is bound to be a hit with the locals. The store includes a Subway, Lavazza Coffee, food to go, local produce, convenience snacks, and tobacco.
This Applegreen project was a completely new build in which the Jordon Group focused on the joinery and shopfitting, flooring, ceiling, decoration, refrigeration, and air conditioning. There is a wonderful food to go area which incorporates a Subway, Greggs, Costa, and a seating area. The project took 5-6 weeks to complete and the results are outstanding.
The Jordon Group are thrilled to have been a part of the re-brand of Applegreen’s Bexhill-on-sea site. Having completed the Refrigeration Engineering and Installation to the entire site, we couldn’t be happier with the end result.
Our thanks go to Paul Johnson (UK Development Manager) and the entire Applegreen Team for choosing us as their Refrigeration specialists and we look forward to working alongside them in the near future. Go Applegreen!
This was an extensive project which took place in different stages over several weeks, project managed by Retail Design Consultant Gareth Lowry alongside the Patel family. The total floor space in the forecourt store is an enormous 3,070.00 ft. squared and includes everything and more than a forecourt shopper is looking for. In addition to the spacious Nisa Local store is also a Greggs with a sizeable range of hot food-to-go options and a Costa Coffee; a customer bathroom, free Wi-Fi and free cash machines.
The work carried out by the Jordon Group included woodwork, plastering, Arneg refrigeration, and cold room, flooring, counter, gantry, plumbing, black IMZ shelving for visual appeal, suspended ceilings, worktops, and decoration. The team worked around the clock in order to complete the project on time and within budget. The grand opening was January 18th, 2018.
