Our History

1965
Jordon 1965

Founded in 1965 by the late Edward Jordon, E Jordon (Refrigeration) Ltd was established at the old cooperative building on Mough Lane in Chadderton, Oldham.

1966
Jordon 1966

Paul Edward Jordon was born, the latest edition to the Jordon family.

1967

Edward Jordon makes his inaugural exhibition in Manchester.

1971

Edward Jordon travelled to Italy to meet with Arneg where the strong relationship is cemented between the two refrigeration specialists.

1982

Paul Jordon commences his apprenticeship as a refrigeration engineer.

1985

Paul Jordon qualifies with distinction and is employed as a full time refrigeration engineer.

1990

The company has grown significantly in size and now employs 28 staff including engineers, joiners, sales and administration.

1991
Jordon 1991

Paul Jordon is elected an associate member of the Institute of Refrigeration.

1998

Paul Jordon takes sole control of the Jordon Group as Managing Director.

2000
Jordon 2000

Edward Jordon is awarded a certificate of achievement for 35 years of continued growth and customer satisfaction.

2001

The Jordon Group company name is born as the take over of all commercial refrigeration and shelving activity at Rock Refrigeration goes ahead. The organisation is experiencing fast moving growth and so moves premises to a building in Manchester triple the size.

2007

Due to success and continual growth head office is relocated again to the 38,000 square foot premises on Quebec Street in Oldham.

2008

Now with 42 staff members and business activity spreading to the midlands and beyond, the Jordon Group is awarded the Investors in People accreditation.

2009

Extensive shopfitting, refrigeration and cold room work is completed on Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2.

2010

The sales and joinery teams are doubled within the shopfitting division and the business is operating completely nationwide.

2012

Turnover hits £11.5 million.

2013

New plant and equipment are invested in to include 15 new vehicles, 4 fork lift trucks, electronic racking system and 3D CAD.

2016

Turnover hits £20 million and direct employees are now over 100.

2017

This is an exciting year due to expansion into Europe with the EG group, receiving the first major contract with Center Parcs in a succession, along with being shortlisted as Center Parcs best supplier of the year.

2018

The new website is coming soon along with the transition to ISO9001:2015 Quality Assurance Accreditation.
